In 1995, “grapevine” opened in Daikanyama, an upscale shopping district in Tokyo that was still out-of-the-way at the time. The name of the shop played on both meanings of “grapevine,” a source of natural goodness as well as a word-of-mouth network. grapevine pursued this vision by offering a unique selection of apparel that does not fade with passing trends and brand names, arranged in mixed coordinates to bring out each individual’s personal style.
From spring/summer 2010, under a new concept called “G.V.G.V.,” the designer MUG joined grapevine as a buyer. She selects only fashions that resonate with her sensibility, carved from extensive experience, supple intuition and a finely tuned network of fashion antennas.
In a relaxed interior highlighted by antiques and vintage interior accents, grapevine’s shelves are lined with specialty products and up-and-coming brand items. The boutique has already launched its 2013 fall/winter lineup, and will continue to offer one-of-a-kind selections as only k3 can.
