“BUBBLES” is a fun-packed knick-knack store on Meiji-dori Street that opened anew in January 2012 after relocating from its former site on a building's second floor fronting the Propeller Street in Urahara Backstreet of Harajuku.
Interior decoration and item display is themed to replicate the wardrobe of an imaginary girl traveler leaping across space-time continuum, and features a swirling mixture of vintage clothing from 1950s through 1990s, non-vintage items, high fashion brands, and original brands.
The interior design is something of a jumble, refusing to be wrapped under one, unifying theme, yet striking just the right note, with a humorous find lurking in every corner--on the ceilings, walls, display racks, and whatever have you.
The wide entrance allows outside light to pour in, imparting an inviting flair to the shop floor.
