This year, popular designer Kikuko Maki--whose creations are followed by devoted fans worldwide--marked the 20th anniversary of her brand "Garde Collective" by opening a flagship store.
Located in Daikanyama, the high ceiling and large windows create an inviting and classy atmosphere, and the natural light that pours in changes the mood of the store according to the time of day.
While the focus is on women's clothing, the store also includes a lineup of original items, vintage items, kids items, etc. The clothes, which are usually monotone in color, are sharp and stylish, yet retain a feminine side with its occasional frills and gathered design.
The principles of the store are "Past, Now, Future" and using your own strength to open doors and become the person you want to be.
