Continuing on from last month, we would like to feature Steam Punk which looks as if it may become trendy again for the first time in a while. Let’s take a look at Steam Punk while breaking it down into Japanese style arrangements and highly original items. Steam Garden is an event that sparked the popularity of Steam Punk in the Japanese underground. The inaugural event was held on April 13th, 2012. The sponsor was Kenny, the singer of the band “I am still in the haze”. So, why was a Steam Punk event held in Japan at this time? Kenny has been an admirer of Steam Punk from the beginning, making a variety of items himself. Compared to Europe and America, Steam Punk is not as well known in Japan so he wanted to create an event which could get the word out. Japan should be able to create more elaborate and amazing items by incorporating people such as the high level technicians and designers from Japan. In addition, the Japanese excel at arrangement so there are high expectations that Japan can eventually lead Steam Punk to a culture of wider world views.
